Tridevworx facilitated the development of a Social Compact for the Wine Industry Value Chain, a multi stakeholder forum that was established under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in 2011. The work of various stakeholders such as Vinpro, SALBA, WINETECH, trade unions such as FAWU, AWETU, Black Owned Brands, NGOs, CBOs and other civil society organisations and government departments, including DAFF and WCDoA dispersed across six Working Groups substantively informed the Social Compact. The compact dealt with issues such as global trade, the transformation of the value chain, resource requirements, local trade and tourism, employee wellness and welfare, research, development and innovation. An implementation process and the monitoring and evaluation thereof based on clearly defined indicators and data sources formed an integral part of the Social Compact.
