Knowledge Management in the Western Cape Government with reference to M&E systems

Project summary:

Diagnostic study of data sources in provincial departments’ in line with the requirements of a Growth and Development Strategy (GDS), Readiness Assessment  for implementing Results-based M&E systems in the Western Cape Government and Data Assessment based on its usefulness for the compilation of a core directory of common data sources

Provided technical expertise (through Saldru) to  conduct a data assessment in order to compile a core directory of common data sources in the province, covering official, mainstream and provincial administrative data sources.  Its purpose was to inform the development of a compendium of indicators for the then Growth and Development Strategy and subsequent key policy areas related to the Provincial Strategic Objectives. The process and products delivered resulted in a seven [7] phase model known as the Provincial-wide Monitoring and Evaluation System. The Core Directory of Common Data Sources and the compendium of indicators are the result of activities in phases 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
